GOD ALWAYS LEADS US TO THE SON |
Today was a marvelous day. Mary and I went to an assisted living place that cares for Alzheimer patients. We prayed with them and distributed the Eucharist to the Catholic patients. I have to tell you that I was a little bit apprehensive about this morning; I did not know what I would find. All sorts of things went through my head. I thought I would be seeing a group of walking zombies that bore little relation to human beings. But actually what I did see was a group of people that needed the healing touch of Jesus and I was one of the ones that brought it to them. We held a little communion service and it was amazing how many of them both Catholic and non Catholic became more aware when we said the Our Father. Mary actually distributed communion and it was a joy for me seeing the joy on her face as she took up again the ministry of caring for God’s unfortunate ones. Both of us left the ministry in 2004 due to circumstances that I need not go into here. Mary just wasn't the same after she lost her ministry. It took awhile and a change of parishes for her to hear God’s call again. As for me I am very happy indeed to be back in a ministry that I had been a part of for over twenty years. When we are exercising our ministry we are truly Jesus, bringing Jesus, to Jesus. The joy in the faces of the residents that we touched brought joy to my heart. Today I am thanking God for calling Mary and I back into this service.
Brother Sun and Sister Moon
Brother Sun and Sister Moon,
I seldom see you, seldom hear your tune
Preoccupied with selfish misery.
Brother Wind and Sister Air,
Open my eyes to visions pure and fair.
That I may see the glory around me.
I am God's creature, of God I am a part
I feel your love awaking in my heart
Brother Sun and Sister Moon
I now do see you, I can hear your tune
So much in love with all that I survey
