Jesus said to his disciples:
"If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.
If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own;
but because you do not belong to the world,
and I have chosen you out of the world,
the world hates you.
Remember the word I spoke to you,
'No slave is greater than his master.'
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
And they will do all these things to you on account of my name because they do not know the one who sent me."
The world hates us, Jesus tells us that in this reading. Just look at the world we live in and you can see that He is right. Look at all of the things that the world believes are good that are against what we know is against the will of God. What has fueled this descent into decadence was Roe vs Wade. That was the first time that the Supreme Court of the United States held a position that was contrary to the position that was taught to our forefathers in a document called the Ten Commandments. Our country had mapped out a route that turned one-hundred and eighty degrees from the course that God would like us to follow. The road led to a slippery slope and we began to slide. Those whose agenda was to make their brand of sinfulness the law of the land saw their chance. We moved in directions that would have horrified previous generations who believed in God and Country. The Catholic Church was not alone either. Prior to Roe vs Wade, most Protestant denominations stood with the Catholic Church and formed a picket line that up until then SCOTUS did not dare to cross. One by one, through democratic vote most likely, the denominations fell away from the side of righteousness and began to allow for abortions until today the Catholic Church is the only Christian organization that has stayed the course, has not changed her doctrine and remains of the mind that life is sacred from cradle to natural death. She also has not changed her doctrine on many of the things that the world now sees as a right but fails the test when compared to the ten commandments.
There are two paths that we can follow. The first is the path that is smooth and straight which leads to destruction. The other road twists and turns and has rocky patches and we will remain on this path for we know where it leads to and that the struggle will be worth it. I've used up a lot of words here to say something that is really quite simple. We are the de facto conscience of the world. We are the stone in the world's shoe, the mosquito that buzzes near their ears, and we will never be bullied into being silent nor will we change our beliefs to believe as the world believes. We bring into their life a border that they must cross. That is why they hate us.
Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory by St. Gertrude the Great
“Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
and in my family. Amen.”

St. Gertrude the Great was a 13th-century German nun, writer, and mystic who was graced with many heavenly visions, including being one of the earliest mystics to whom Jesus encouraged a devotion to his Sacred Heart. It is recounted that Jesus showed her a vast number of souls entering heaven from purgatory as a result of her faithful and frequent recitation of this prayer.
