The Sign and Wonder of the Eucharist

The crowd said to Jesus:
"What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you?
What can you do?
Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:

He gave them bread from heaven to eat."

So Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven;
my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world."

So they said to Jesus,
"Sir, give us this bread always."
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst."

As I have said time and time again, it is good to be a Catholic. We have, in our Church, the fullness of the revelation that Christ wants the world to have.  We believe that Jesus is keeping His Church safe and the Doctrines she believes in, pure.  We have seven Sacraments that operate as floodgates to the graces that God wants to shower down upon us.  One of these is the sacrament of reconciliation where we can receive the forgiveness of Christ and His Church which prepares our souls for the greatest gift that God has ever given, that is the Holy Eucharist, the very Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ in the form of bread and wine that we consume and in doing so take deep within ourselves the creator of the universe who is there to listen to us and to gift us with graces beyond our comprehension.  Jesus is the Bread from Heaven that leads to eternal life.  Can we understand what this means?  Can we understand that He is in us and is there waiting to converse?  How it must hurt when He enters a soul who has received Him only to find that soul is scurrying to the parking lot so he can be the first out of the church and first in line at the pancake house.  What a great loss is suffered by those who receive and do not understand what it is that they have received.   When we stand before Jesus at the time of our judgment, what will we say when He reveals what could have been had we stayed for a moment or two and conversed with Him?  What excuse will we give?   Please. if you receive Jesus in the Eucharist, do not leave Him alone.  If you don't know what to say, then say as Thomas did, "My Lord and My God."  Quiet your soul if you have nothing to say and bask in the wonder of God, the light shines into your soul so brightly while He is present and He understands if you are overcome with love that you cannot find the words to say. He will remain with you and comfort your soul in ways too sublime to be written about here.  Praise you Lord Jesus for the Eucharist and thank you for entering into and being with this most unworthy servant.

You can offer your communion up for the Poor Souls in Purgatory if you like.  The graces will help them and comfort them and in some cases be the catalyst that frees them.  All of this plus you have Jesus as the guest in your soul and you can still speak to Him of your needs, wants, and desires.  Praise you Jesus!
