Life - Accept no mundane thing in yours!

As Jesus passed by,
he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post. He said to him, "Follow me."
And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners came
and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
"Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" He heard this and said,
"Those who well do not need a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn the meaning of the words,
I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."

If, through a message from God, you found out that today was going to be your last day on earth and that at a precise moment you would be called home, say twelve hours after you received the message, how would you spend that time?

It's not a stupid question.  We can be recalled by our maker at any moment and that is why every second of life we have is so very precious because it may be our last.  Write a list of the twelve things you would do in those last twelve hours.  Who would you speak to?  Who would you forgive?  From whom would you ask forgiveness?  What book would you read?  What songs would you listen to? Would you pray?  The question is a very simple question, "What would you do?"  The answer you come up with will show just where your spiritual journey has taken you thus far in your life.  Are you satisfied where you are? Are you scared? Do you see things that you should have done but haven't?

Think about this and then take some action to do the things that need to be done, listen to the songs you need to hear, forgive those who need to be forgiven and ask forgiveness of those that you need to.  There is only one ride per person in life and we have to make it count.  Do not be satisfied with the mundane and average, strive for the best and not really in material things, but in things that last, memories of good times with family and friends, the excitement of the spiritual journey, and of course the prospect of hearing Jesus at the end of it all welcoming you into the kingdom.  This is what life is all about.  Grab some for yourself!

Our mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers, that may be in Purgatory await your prayers for them. Don't let your love end at the edge of the grave.  Pray and offer sacrifices for them and do it today!
