You'll Never Walk Alone - Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

After entering a boat, Jesus made the crossing and came into his own town. And there people brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Courage, child, your sins are forgiven." At that, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming." Jesus knew what they were thinking, and said, "Why do you harbor evil thoughts? Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"– he then said to the paralytic, "Rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home." He rose and went home. When the crowds saw this they were struck with awe and glorified God who had given such authority to men.

Where do you get your inspiration? I got some inspiration yesterday evening on the television.  I was watching, as I do every fourth of July, the show that they broadcast from our nation's capital.  It was a nicely put together show but I was really inspired when they called up military families on to the stage. Fathers and mothers in uniform with their spouses and children.  A chill ran through me when I thought how these families might be called at any moment to put their loved one on a plane and send them to heaven knows where to keep us free. Imagine, the last you see of your spouse, brother, sister, child, is a brave wave as they go off to protect freedom. You do not know from that moment if you will see them alive again for they go into harm's way.  I was inspired too, by the sight of the wounded warriors all proudly in their uniforms, they had given what they had to give.  I was inspired by those who were not there, they lie in their rest in cemeteries all over this great land.  We owe a lot to those who chose to defend us against all comers.

To our politicians, you do not inspire me, not one little bit.  As far as I can see you care nothing for the people you represent and the uniforms you wear, tailor-made suits costing a month's pay,  are stained with the blood of the patriotic men and women that have gone off on your word to fight while many of you talk your children out of joining the service.  You suck the blood of the people to provide lovingly for yourself and your families, but you do nothing but take food out of the mouth of the poor. You steal from the funds put by to help seniors live out their years in modest comfort to pay for your extravagant golden fleece health insurance while seniors go without glasses and hearing aids because they cannot afford them and food on the money that you send them.  Do not tell me how patriotic you are, for you are not. You pledge allegiance to your wallet and to those that will help you fill it.

Mr. Trump, I hesitate to call you Mr. President because you are very inept at your job. Those of us that voted for you made a terrible mistake which we will begin to put right in the fall elections. The Rascals will be turned out of office and we will find men and women willing to take men like you to task.  You have done a couple of good things, that is true. But being the president means you should be wise and work with our friends and neighbors.  Tariffs did not work for Teddy Roosevelt nor will they work for you. Being friendly with the evil Vlad the Impaler Putin and turning your back on Britan and Canada and Japan will cost us a lot in the end. How dare you, sir, separate children, and parents. Your punishment for that will come from God, may He have mercy on you.  Build bridges between people, sir, not walls.  Have you no conscience?  You said you would come and drain the swamp in Washington.  You've not only have not drained it, you have increased its breadth and depth and it continues to grow.

I pray from my heart that God does bless America and that He sees fit to see us through this time when our very government is a threat to our well being.  He knows that there are millions of good Americans of every creed and color who want to do what is right and see this country of ours made once again a beacon to the world.  He knows that there are people who consider the policies decreed by the ten commandments are beautiful to behold.  He knows that we the people are more powerful than they the politicians.  Help us turn the corner Oh Lord.  Without your help, we shall surely perish!

God Bless America
Land That I love!

Michael The Lesser apologizes for the political tone of this reflection.  He will reign himself in and return to reflecting on the Word of God tomorrow.  Please pray for our country.
