The Good Old Days Are Here Now

"But blessed are your eyes because they see,
and your ears, because they hear.
Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people
longed to see what you see but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

We are truly blessed by God in this time of waiting for the return of His Son to claim what is His own.  We have all of the advantages of the complete Bible, writings that have come down through the centuries that tell us God's plan and God's hope for His children.  We have learned that He loves each of us as if we were His only child and we know that He gives us everything that is good. If the prophets and righteous people of times gone by had what we had what marvelous use they would have made of the knowledge. We know what it is that God wants of us. It is up to us to fulfill these requirements which are simply to love others as He has loved us.  To forgive others as He has forgiven us.  To let no one be without when we have.  Yes, if our forefathers knew what we know today what a different world we would have inherited.  We need to act on what we know so that those that come after us will inherit a world that is better, more gentle and more docile to the promptings of the Spirit.  Some say it was better in the good old days.  I ask how can that be true when we, today have more complete knowledge of the God who loves us so much?

Our brothers and sisters in Purgatory beg for our prayers.  Do not forget them as you go through your day today.  Offer up the pains and sorrow that may come your way for them and pray an Our Father, Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.  It will mean so much for them.
