Once He Touches You, You Have To React

Jesus began to reproach the towns
where most of his mighty deeds had been done since they had not repented.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!
For if the mighty deeds done in your midst
had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable
for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

And as for you, Capernaum:
Will you be exalted to heaven?
You will go down to the netherworld.

For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom,
it would have remained until this day. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable
for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

Jesus toured the land and where He went he performed mighty deeds and in spite of that, the people were unmoved. They continued their way of life and did not hear nor heed the message of repentance that Jesus was preaching.  It went in one ear and out of the other and they continued to disobey the laws of God.

The words of Jesus echo through the ages down to us.  We have heard of what He has done and we too carry on as if the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus meant nothing at all, had no effect, was a waste of God's time.

We kill our babies in a ritual called abortion and we disguise it as "women's health."  We turn our backs on the morality that we were taught and right at our fingertips there is the sin that we can view for free, we call this pornography and its siren call has caught many who say that if I do this in private no one will ever know.  Our politicians grow rich by lining their own pockets with the money belonging to the people. They steal from the elderly and the sick.  Do you think God is blind?  That He does not see all that we do, that he does not know what we carry in our heart?

If you have Jesus in your life, can you point to times when He did something for you?  When all was falling apart, that miracle appeared and you grabbed it as a lifeline, now where did that come from.  A thousand decisions that could have given your life over to sin and yet you are on the narrow way even today.  How did you conquer the whispered, "Come this way for ease and comfort" that the evil one spoke in your ear? Was it your own strength that kept you safe?

Come home tonight, put away all of your cares.   Turn the television off. Silence the Smart Phone and computer. Relax and then consider all of the things God has done for you over the years, talk to Him, thank him.  Thank Him not because he needs our thanks but because we have to realize how very weak we are without Him.  When Jesus acts in your life, you have to react.  Peace to you this wonderful day.
